S'mores and fondue

A couple of nights ago we had chocolate fondue with strawberries and mini marshmallows for dessert.  We also decided to make s'mores!  It was sooo much fun and sooo yummy, so of course most definitely blog-worthy!  Here are some pics my hubby snapped that night.  Enjoy!

Oh happy days!  I hope you enjoyed this family post.  Come back tomorrow for some DIY fun!!  Enjoy this sunshiny day!

NZ Proud!

Good morning everyone!  How was your weekend?  Hope it was productive and fun!  Mine was both, but I forgot to also add TIRING!  On Saturday was my son's soccer prizegiving, followed by Wacky's 1st pirate birthday party, then a spectacular All Blacks win against France (that my lucky brother got to watch LIVE at Eden Park - sooo jealous),

topped with the Warriors' victory over the Storm that put them in the grand finals (which will be against Manly in Sydney)!!
Warriors centre Lewis Brown as the final hooter blew.

Wow, and that's just one day!  All I can say is I am very proud to be a NZer right now.  :-)

But, what about (yesterday) Sunday?  Well, more rugby for me and my family of course.  We managed to catch Manu Samoa win against Fiji, and Argentina's nail-biting win again Scotland!  My son Javaughn was sooo thrilled his adopted country Argentina won 13-12.

But, of course, even though I missed the game, I have to mention how proud I am of Ireland's charging win against Russia yesterday, too.  Ireland is one of my fave's in the RWC ever since their win over Australia.  They're definitely one to watch out for.

Wow, I have to say, I am going to miss the RWC when it's over.  But, until that day comes, I will live in and savour the moment.

Before I go, here's something sweet from me to you for breakfast...
Cinnamon swirls baking in the oven...
Ahhh!  Fresh from the oven, and drizzled with a delectable vanilla bean icing...just lovely.
Have a sugary Monday guys!  See you all again tomorrow for even more sugar!

August in a glimpse...

Good morning everyone!  Hope you had a great Fathers' Day weekend!  My hubby sure was spoilt with love, laughter, and cake!  Will share more of that tomorrow, so be sure to come back.

Today I am delighted to 'begin' a monthly summary, where I'll be posting little glimpses of what I shared with you each month.  Not sure why I didn't think of this sooner.  Enjoy!

CUTEST
I started August off with sweet cake pops, which I renamed PARTY POPS!  A sweet treat made from left over cake scraps and covered in sprinkles!  Yum-oh!

COOLEST
Then we shuffled the streets of London with dancer Kimberley from Vibe One, who asked for a special cake delivery for her bf in Auckland!  How sweet!

MOST PINTEREST-ING
Of course goes to the Pinterest Challenge we did with Katie, Sherry, Lana and Emily.  Everyone shared amazing work!  Good stuff guys!

OLD SCHOOL
...goes to our trip down  memory lane where we visited my life as a dancer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! Good times!

RANDOM-EST
...has to go to the 'deer' action we had on our street.  Random and cool!

FASTEST
...goes to the little quickie action in the car with a cake!  There's gotta be a first for everything, right?

BEST MUSIC
...goes to DJ Kiwa who rocked the house!

BEST DANCE
...goes to this awesome dancing!!

BEST ROMANCE
...goes to the 'Love' cake I made for my hubby xo

MOST CHALLENGING
...undoubtedly goes to the MJ tip-toe shoes cake.  I can still remember the sleep deprivation, lol!

MILLENNIUM AWARD
...goes out to my Uncle who turned 50!  Made him a vanilla bean cake to celebrate via skype.  Love technology!

and last but not least we have...

MOST CARING
...goes to the SPCA Cupcake Day!

Well, there you have it!  August in a glimpse!  I can't believe it's now September!  Yay, my favourite month ('cause it's my birthday month, hehe, and it's SPRING).  See you all again soon for more cool cakin' and creatin'!

Latest idea!

Good morning everyone!  I hope you've all had a fantastic week so far!  The weekend is near and I am sooo excited because we're having a Father's Day celebration at my place for my hubby and his side of the family.  Nothing like a good ol' barbie to bring the family together.  Of course, there will be cake, but nothing too fancy in terms of design, but definitely tasty - and chocolate.  Will show you all next week so be sure to come back.

Today I will be keepin' it short and sweet, as I have two boys tugging on my clothes wanting to play, hehe.  This week I made something small and sweet.  I'm always looking for new ways to present products, and in a whim came up with this wee beauty.

How awesome is that, huh?  They are mini (very mini) banana cupcakes with vanilla bean buttercream and white non-pareils in a beautiful box (commonly used for chocolates).  I will be testing this product to see if it will be a hit!  I think it's a great gift idea.  Instead of a box of chocolates, it's a box of petite cakes!  Or cupcakes, whatever ya want to call them.  Something different.

Anyway, I would love to hear what your thoughts are on this, so feel free to leave me a comment!  Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget your Dads this Fathers Day!

Oh, and before I forget, I would like to say a very happy birthday to my aunty Fatu!  Well, technically she is Lui's aunty, but family is family!    Remember how I mentioned on this post how I would reuse this cake every time there's a birthday?  Well, here it is!  A little cake for you on this special day!  Enjoy!

Happy Monday guys!

Wow, can you believe it's August already?  I can't believe how quickly time passes when you're having so much fun!  I must say, I am sooo ready for spring!  It's getting a tad to chilly for me...although, I do love snuggling up in bed indulging in a hot coco, or two, (that's both the beverage and my hubby, hehe) and a couple of dark choc tim tams by Arnotts.  That's what I had last night before bed anyway.  Sooo bad but oh-so good!

Looking outside my window I see big clouds and far too much grey for my washing's liking.  Did I mention how ready I was for spring?

I think what we need for this gloomy Monday is for something cheerful and sprinkly!  (I may have just invented that word guys...:-P).  Last week I had some cake scraps and did not want to put them to waste.  So what did I make?  CAKE POPS!  There are so many names for these babies, it can get a bit confusing - from truffles, cake balls, cakelets and sweet bites, to cake drops, cake babies and cake nuggets...the list goes on and on.  It doesn't matter what you call them, they all sound scrum-dili-yum-cious!  (Another invented word - I'm on a roll!).

Here are some fun shots I took!  Couldn't decide between the two different backdrops, so will show you both.  Enjoy! - and try not to lick your screen!!  xo

Sprinkly fun!

These would be perfect party treats!
Hmmm...let's call these 'PARTY POPS'!

Oh, and before I go, did any of you attend 'The Food Show' this year?  Regrettably, I wasn't able to due to circumstances beyond my control (both twin boys were sick to name one reason).  But, I would LOVE to hear about your experiences, so please comment below, or if you blogged about it, send me the link!  The closest I was to The Food Show this year was when I used the wine glass from last year for my 'Party Pops' photo-shoot, hehe.  I 'heart' The Food Show!  xo
